My wife and I just joined last week and we are planning a kitchen remodeling project. My question is, does it indeed take 6 weeks or so to receive the major appliances (Refrigerator and Gas Range), and the countertop materials?

Thanks for writing! We're excited to have you and your wife as members, and look forward to helping you save money on your kitchen remodeling project.

The best way to get an idea of when your merchandise might be delivered is to discuss your project and product needs with a Product Specialist at your local showroom. Delivery times vary by manufacturer. Based on our ordering history with a particular manufacturer, we've determined an estimated time frame for the manufacturer to deliver the item to our showroom. That information can be found on the Supplier Information page at the front of every catalog. However, depending on the availability of the merchandise you are wanting to order, the delivery time could be much less or slightly longer than what the manufacturer has projected. The Product Specialists at your showroom can work with the manufacturer at the time you place your order in an effort to obtain the most accurate estimate of when your specific item will be delivered.

We'd love to hear how your project is going, and any advice you have for other remodelers. Also, right here at DirectBuy's members-only forum, you can post before and after pictures of your project, and even updates of the remodel along the way!

Our appliances arrived faster than the 6 weeks, I believe this is quite often the case with kitchen appliances. If I recall, I think our appliances were here in about 3 to 4 weeks.

I don't know what type of countertop you plan to do, but for us, the countertop was a bit of a long pole. We ordered quartz, and it took more than two weeks after the in-home measurement (which doesn't occur until after the cabinets came in) until the countertops were ready. Make sure you plan in that down time, if you're getting that type of countertop.

BTW I LOVE the quartz!!! We selected Staron, a nice medium gray, and it's fantastic. Good luck with your remodel!
